Position Summary:

 The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising all functions of production and ensuring the safety and cost-effectiveness of manufacturing. This team will focus on identifying efficiencies, monitoring quality control, and exceeding the needs of our customers while complying with all applicable regulations and requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leadership, management, and accountability for the production team.
  • Promote good employee relations and monitor employee morale.
  • Drive employee coaching, development, and training.
  • Schedule and assign personnel, establish priorities, monitor progress, accomplish work results, revise schedules, and resolve problems.
  • Communicate, explain, and enforce Shop Rules and Company policies.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Job Safety Practices.
  • Resolve and escalate personnel problems.
  • Urgently communicate and escalate any issues or deficiencies that could adversely impact manufacturing, shipping, customers, or other segments of the business.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on production metrics including but not limited to volume, inventory, run rate/cycle time, yield/scrap, downtime, changeover time, and fill rate for specified time frames such as months, quarters, and fiscal years using Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and related computational tools.
  • Coordinate the efficient execution of production schedules to meet inventory targets.
  • Monitor and coordinate raw materials and consumables with a Procurement Specialist.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and performing auxiliary procurement duties.
  • Ensure quality checks and signoffs are appropriately managed and completed.
  • Review and maintain timecards within the payroll system (ProLiant) and maintain attendance records.
  • Monitor, support, and back up the entry of daily production work into the company’s software program LabelTrax.
  • Assist with job tracking including but not limited to open and close jobs in LabelTrax, support jobs in RiteTime/RiteScan, and review material usage and waste.
  • Develop a working knowledge of RiteTime/RiteScan to support operators' use and minor troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of the operating costs, analyze, and reduce the cost to operate.
  • Support, develop, and implement projects to improve production efficiency.
  • Create, document, and continually improve/refine existing processes, SOPs, and best practices.
  • Lead process improvements and optimization in all areas of production.
  • Ensure the operation of equipment through monitoring, observations, and troubleshooting and will appropriately evaluate and prioritize issues for escalation to Maintenance.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and engineering to manage and control product and process improvements and modifications.
  • An active member of the Safety Committee.
  • Increase individual employee and team awareness and accountability for EH&S through coaching on safety and health responsibilities, goals, and the effective application of the EH&S program and work processes.
  • Participate in daily Production meetings, L10 meetings, and Operational Planning meetings.
  • Support the annual audit.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Success Attributes

  • High-school diploma or GED; college coursework preferred.

Flexographic Press Operator

Title:                           Flexographic Press Operator

Reports to:                 Shift Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Flexographic Press Operator is responsible for keeping the presses up and running. Being a backup press operator, rewinder, and shrink wrap. As well as perform other tasks as assigned. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Perform make-ready functions
  • Follow information from job tickets and prepare press accordingly
  • Enter all activities into a computer for job tracking and cost accounting
  • Mount plates
  • Pull dies, inks, and cylinders for all jobs on the press schedule over the next 24 hours.
  • Mix ink and make corrections to meet customer specs.
  • Perform press wash-up and clean-up procedures
  • Perform press maintenance
  • Have full knowledge of all phases of label production.

    • Finishing capabilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized production floor that is safe for all employees.
  • Be available to work with customers when necessary.
  • Assist the management staff on special projects.
  • Any other responsibilities requested by the production management staff

 Qualifications/Skills/Abilities:

Must have:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience as a pressmen is required
    • Preferred knowledge of four-color process work

  • Ability to use hand pallet jack
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of employees within the organization.
